Electrical Capacitance Surveys

Electric capacitance/impedance testing is a non-destructive testing technique used to quickly and accurately identify water entry pathways and areas of entrapped water within a roof construction. Electric capacitance/impedance testing sends an electric current into the roof and is based on the material’s ability to store electrical energy. If there is moisture within the roof system, the dielectric properties will provide higher readings than a dry material would. LJB’s state-of-the-art capacitance surveys test both capacitance and resistance for the most accurate results in a wide range of materials and constructions. Upon completion of our assessments, we provide our clients with a comprehensive report which includes the results of the electrical capacitance survey results and cost estimates for roof repair or replacement.
